New Year, new me? It is always a dilemma to many every time the year ends and a new one starts. It’s like everyone wants a change for themselves, oftentimes this is called New Year’s resolution. Most people have this resolutions that they try to do for a new start.
Some desires to achieve a healthier life and wishes to change their lifestyle, but it’s not easy. How can we really change it?
Wanting to change what you learned to live through is quiet hard, especially with regards to your habits. Lifestyle is complicated, wanting it to be healthier is more complex than imagined.
It is not just about going on a diet, getting sexy, being physically fit and so on. Healthier lifestyle is more than just food and diet, it also includes your well-being.
Your ways of doing things, your sleeping habits, how you handle stress and your physical activities. Here are some steps you can take little by little to achieve this:
Start A Simple Diet
If what you really change is your physical appearance, look healthier and lose weight, plan your diet. Search for sites that can help you with what diet plans that best fits you. It may be a Vegetarian diet, South Beach diet, Atkins diet or you may want to visit a dietician to provide yourself counselling with regards to your diet, food and nutrition. They may help you to regulate diet and suggest healthy meal plans you should follow.
If you don’t have time to go to the experts and want to save some money, you can also make your own diet to just make sure the proper nutrients needed for a balanced diet meal.
Keep in mind, that skipping meals will never help you lose weight. It’s alright to go on cheat days, but make sure that you go back to you regular dieting after eat, you can make a schedule for when you will have your cheat day at least once a week.
Exercising don’t just make you fit but it also gives you strength to do physical activities. Nowadays, a lot of people go to gyms to exercise but you can also do some form of exercising without spending money to pay for membership fees.
Start from walking at least 30 minutes a day, it is the simplest work out you can do, and is also a good cardiovascular activity and lowers blood pressure. You can walk anytime and everywhere, you can do it alone or with friends. This activity not just helps you to work yourself out but also can give you relaxing feeling. You need some time off to cleat your mind? Then walk while thinking about stuff.
There are also a lot of exercise you can do without going out. Push-ups, curl ups, squat, stretching, planking, lifting and the likes can be done at home. If you really want to be healthier, become fit and achieve your body goals, then don’t be lazy and work out!
Get Enough Sleep
Staying late at night and overworking yourself is never healthy. Remind yourself to take break from work. No matter how heavy your work load is always make sure you stretch, drink water, relax yourself and eat meals on time.
Most importantly, get the enough amount of sleep you need to regain all your energy. Sleep is essential for one’s health and well-being and it is necessary for young adults and adults to sleep at least 7-9 hours.
For better sleep, make yourself a sleeping schedule and avoid sleeping late. If you are having trouble sleeping, relax yourself first by listening to music or reading books until you fall asleep.
Getting proper sleep does not only helps you regain energy and be physically active but also helps you get clearer and healthier skin.
There are a lot of ways to start your healthier lifestyle, it may be difficult at first to change the habits you are used to but with taking small steps, you can do it too.
