Wii Fit vs. Wii Fit Plus Review

This post is a review of the Wii Fit Plus. Last weekend I was at Target, holding two workout videos in one hand and the Wii Fit Plus on the other. Lacking my usually motivation to work out, I thought it would be a good idea to buy something new to inspire me.

At the end of the post, you will find instructions on how to win a Nuruplanet Exercise Anywhere of your own from Small Steps to Health. brush-your-teeth1This post is a book review for Brush Your Teeth! and other Simple Ways to Stay Young and Healthy by Dr. David S. Ostreicher.

Focusing on the big picture items when it comes to our health, like eating organic or drinking pomegranate juice, gets headlines and attention. Sure these things help, but sometimes it is the smaller daily decisions that we do not think too much about that have the most impact on our health.

the-great-american-heart-hoax

American spends at least $600 billion a year on invasive cardiovascular care. For a country with only 5% of the world’s population, we sure seem to spend more money than anyone else on our heart. Money aside, the risk involve in bypass surgery, stent placements, and coronary artery angioplasties might not be as effective as the medical community lead us to believe.

In The Great American Heart Hoax, Dr. Michael Ozner dispel the myths of why heart surgeries such as bypass surgery, stent placements, and coronary artery angioplasties do not work and how diet, exercise, and medical therapy might achieve better results for a majority of patients with heart disease.

pom wonderful pomegranate juice

After hearing my brother raved about Pom Wonderful over Christmas, I am excited that someone wants to send me case for review. However, after hearing about the expired batch that Every Gym’s Nightmare got, I approached the box with a little trepidation and a frantic need to check the expiration date before I rip open the drink. It is bowling night and I am always ravenousness when I get home from the league. And having a box of anything edible on my doorsteps is cause for a little victory dance.

The Taste

Unlike most juices that slide down like water, I feel like there is a depth to Pom Wonderful. Not heavy like V8, but definitely with a little more substance and a tang at the end. I can actually taste the hard part inside the fleshy juicy part of a pomegranate seed. I am not sure if I am describing this correctly, but if you ever eaten a pomegranate then you know that the center of the seed is a little harder than the fleshy part and has its own unique taste.

Walking Through Walls – Book Review

Unless you are open to the possibility of spirits and energy healing, Walking Through Walls might be a little too bizarre for Main Street. Fortunately, my Chinese background (think Joy Luck Club) with its various ancestral spirits opens me to the possibility of phenomenon that science cannot explain.

My usually genre for reading material are personal finance, health/fitness, science fiction, and historical fiction. Rarely do I pick up a memoir, but I was intrigued with the idea of a psychic healer. Walking Through Walls is Philip Smith’s memoir on growing up with a father (Lews Smith) who was an all-knowing psychic healer.

I regularly listen to music or podcasts with my ipod when I do my aerobic workouts.

This post will discuss the Don’t Quit Fitness Bundle – what I like and dislike about this product. Let’s just say that I am disappointed.
