Does anyone in blog land knows of a good Twitter Plug-in to use with your WordPress blog?  The reason I do not tweet as often as I would like to is because I do not want to have to separately log into my Twitter page in order to tweet something.  I would like to be [...]

Welcome to Small Steps to Health where we do not take orders from a cookie!

I finally figured out why certain posts keep getting comment spam vs. other posts on my blog. Whenever a reader insert one of my posts url on a forum, I notice that I would get massive amounts of comment spams for that post.

Five posts on my blog generate 90% of my comment spam.

I am addicting to blogs. I love reading them and I love writing mine. And every once in a while, I read a post that makes me think, ‘I would love to share this!’

This post is a roundup of great posts that might offer some help in this recession (aka. freebies).

Mini post: Publishing Full RSS Feed

I am a huge Jane Austen fanWelcome to Small Steps to Health where we do not take orders from a cookie!

With some trepidation, I decided that I am going to publish my posts with full RSS feed and monitor its misuse per Jonathan Bailey’s advice. Am I afraid? Oh yes. How can you not be afraid when you embank on a different path than the course you originally set for yourself? But more than anything else, I am afraid this might mean that I will see more pieces of my life on another blog.

Another Mexico Picture

I know for a fact that I do not have as many subscribers as I should on my blog. Usually after a surge in traffic from a Stumble or a link on the blogroll of a popular website , I get a good amount of people subscribing. But after a week, I usually end up losing a good 80% of these new subscribers. I know the reason I lose subscribers is because I do not publish my full RSS feed.

Then why don’t you publish your full Rss feed?

Small Steps to Health is on the blogroll of health.msn.com. Wow! When I saw traffic coming in from the site, I thought it might have been a mistake. I am not sure when this happen or how. But I am going to get that screen shot so that I can “document” this in case it turns out to be a mistake! :D

I consider this month to be my 1st year blog anniversary. I did not start to blog regularly until January of last year, even though I have a couple of posts from previous months. Though I am quite happy with the amount of traffic I get from people passing through, I really want to have more “regulars” show up on my doorsteps. And as with real life, you cannot make friends unless you let people in – let them see the real you.

So this year, I would like to share more stories about my life (or at least stories pertaining to health and fitness), even if they do not end with some profound sentence about how the story will change my readers life. I would like to take shot at trying to amuse my readers with the mishaps and adventures in my life……………..

Sick in the Head

Nothing worst than knowing on Friday that you will be spending the upcoming weekend sick in bed. That’s me. Looks like I caught whatever bug my husband is recovering from earlier in the week.

A part of me cannot help but wonder if I will drop a couple of pounds due to my lack of appetite. I know – it is a stupid thought.

Reading this post on The Fight for Fitness the other day made me realize why I do not like to tell people that I write a health and fitness blog. To begin with, I always feel that I am a dorky engineer. :D Though my last job required a lot of public speaking, deep down inside I know I am an introvert. So dorkiness, introvert, and blogging – well, I feel like that is not enough qualifications to judge anyone’s eating or exercise habits. Nor do I give any advice, other than what I write on my blog. But inevitably I get ask these three questions…………
