Complete Lack of Motivation

Welcome to Small Steps to Health where we do not take orders from a cookie!

According to Reader’s Digest, most women gain back the weight they loss for a wedding within a year of the marriage.  I might have set a new record with my 2 months.  It has to be the weather.  Or it could be my serious face time with yummy food during my two week honeymoon.  Whatever the case, my weight is up and my pants are tight.

But my weight gain, though alarming, is not keeping me awake at night.  It is my complete lack of motivation to move.  Call it the holiday amnesia, but it is as if I have forgotten how to exercise.  And forget about portion control.  It is all about how much food I can fit onto my plate (my BIG 12” dinner plates).

Where did all my self-discipline go?  Is it hiding in the drawer with my bathing suit?  When the weather turns cold and I start wearing the bulky sweaters and jackets, my body does a mental sigh of relief.  It knows that I only want to sit on the sofa with a warm blanket and a good book all winter long.

Finding the motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle is not easy.  Finding the motivation to resume a fall from the bandwagon is even harder.  I hope to find my mojo soon.

Until next time and thanks for stopping by.

Oh, my, I pretty much wrote the same exact blog this morning — well, except for the recently married part….just the utter lack of motivation to keep too much food out of my mouth. Nothing like the great big reality slap of the scale to whack you into submission though!!!

@Nadine – it could also be the weather too. It is so hard to be motivated in the winter. Thanks for the comment.
