This post is a review of the Pom Wonderful’s new POMx Antioxidant Super Tea.

A couple of weeks ago, I came home to find a surprise from Pom Wonderful on my doorsteps.  A box with four flavors of the POMx Antioxidant Super Tea.

One perk about being a health blogger, I often get free things to review.  And being on the frugal side, I love free.  The problem is that sometimes when I write a negative review, I never hear from the company again.  Oh well.

Super Antioxidant – truth or fiction?

POMx Antioxidant Super Tea claims to combine the antioxidant power of POM Wonderful pomegranate juice with the health benefits of tea.  Truthfully, it is rare to see an immediate reaction right afterwards on a lot of the stuff we eat or drink (unless you are allergic, in which case you should not be eating it).  The only way I can judge whether this antioxidant cocktail is “super” compared to other teas is beyond my meager ability.

The taste of POMx Antioxidant Super Tea

I like the taste of POMx Antioxidant Super Tea.  I can taste the tea, with a little tang from the pomegranate juice, and just a hint of sweetness.  Generally I prefer my tea without any sweetener, so the fructose added to POMx is a negative for me, but I know that most people prefer their teas to be sweeten.  At least POMx is not as sugar laden as Snapple.

However, at almost $3 a bottle (the price at my local Bel Air), I cannot justify spending that kind of money on 16 ounces of tea.  I can make 16 ounces of tea from a $0.25 tea bag!

So I decided to purchase a bottle of Pom Wonderful and add a splash to my iced tea (I prefer white tea).  Guess what, it taste almost the same without the sweetness which is much more to my liking.  There you have it my readers – a frugal way to mix your own cocktail of super antioxidant tea.

Until next time and thanks for stopping by.
