Link Roundup – Recession Edition

mountain-with-a-treeWelcome to Small Steps to Health where we do not take orders from a cookie!

I am addicting to blogs.  I love reading them and I love writing mine.  And every once in a while, I read a post that makes me think, ‘I would love to share this!’

So I am starting a link roundup of my reading once or twice a month of all the great blogs that I am reading.  The great thing about this idea is that it gives me a chance to discuss other things that I am interested in.  I would hate for my readers to think that I am so one dimensional.  Truly – I am a fascinating multifaceted person!  (Although if that is truly the case, I would not have to announce how fascinating I am. :D ).

This post is a roundup of great posts that might offer some help in this recession  (aka. freebies).

Health Advice

DR at Healthhabits posted a great list of ideas on How to Get Fit and Save Money.  In this recession, who wouldn’t want that kind of knowledge.  And no, I am not recommending this post because I am one of the featured bloggers on this list of ideas….. ok, maybe.

Free Downloads

DailyBits has an extensive lists of free stuff on the internet that you can download for free.  From audio books, to software, to photo editing.  There is bound to be something in this list that catches your eyes.

I love the links to the audio books.  They are mostly classic literatures that are in the public domain.  If you are a high school or college student, there is a high possiblity that one of the books on your reading list is available.  Upload it onto your mp3 player and listen to it while you are exercising.  Yep, that is how I am indulging with my staircase climbing exercises – listening to Emma by Jane Austen.

Free Stuff

I love free stuff and the Freebie Blogger always deliver something new and free every day.

Discounts for Online Shopping

I love shopping online.  Often times it saves gas, money, and sale taxes.  And getting a coupon code for more savings makes the experience even better.  Though there are tons of sites on the internet for getting coupon codes, one of my favorite is Retailmenot.  At their homepage, I type in the internet merchant’s webpage and up pops a list of available coupon codes and people’s success rates for using the coupon codes.

Link Roundup Thoughts

If there are any links you want me to feature in my next link roundup, send me an email.  I am still on the fence about creating a blog carnival.  Mostly, it is because I cannot think of a name or a theme for one yet.  If I some positive feedback, that might help with my decision.

Until next time and thanks for stopping by Small Steps to Health.

@Katherine Landreneau – Please feel free to forward my posts to any of your family, friends, or co-workers. It is through word of mouth from readers that will help my blog grow.
