It is pretty astonishing the amount of emotional baggage that we being to the dinner table. Each time we sit at the dinner table, we are eating with the shade of our childhood disappointment with food.

Normally I do not read relationship books. I have been “off the market” for the past 14 years. You must be wondering why I am doing a book review on a dating book if I have no expectation of entering the dating scene any time soon. I find the title of the book intriguing since I married for food, sex, and laundry (it is not just a male thing to want to find someone who is willing to cook and do your laundry).
This post is a book review of Will Marry for Food, Sex, and Laundry – How to Get Him and How to Keep Him by Simon Oaks. At the end of the review I will give some instructions on how you can win a copy of this book for the price of a comment. This book is a marriage manual that is not quite PC (politically correct) for our generation, but I find it highly amusing. A marriage manual is as antiquated as my love for Jane Austen books.

Even though I have been too busy to workout with my dvds, I have been using my Stairmaster. When you live in a two story house, you have a built-in Stairmaster at home. There is no need to travel to some distance gym to get a cardio workout when you have a fully functional staircase at home. Yep, I fully intend to wear out my newly installed carpet on the staircase before any other part of the house. My husband thought I was joking when I announced my intentions a couple of days ago. This post discusses some exercises we can do at home with our staircase. And yes, we can work out most of our body with just a little bit of imagination.

The move to my new house is almost complete. We are now living at our new house and clearing out the miscellaneous stuff out of the duplex we were living in. Since we brought a foreclosed home, it requires a lot of elbow grease in order to make it habitable again.
Though my weight has not yet reflect my lack of exercise in the last three weeks, all the takeout is finally taking a toll on my energy level this week. Initially we were spending more money to get healthier restaurant food, but as the days turn into weeks, we find ourselves turning to fast food, both for the convenience and the cheap prices. I feel tired throughout the day from the lack of exercise and the junk food we have been eating.

With some trepidation, I decided that I am going to publish my posts with full RSS feed and monitor its misuse per Jonathan Bailey’s advice. Am I afraid? Oh yes. How can you not be afraid when you embank on a different path than the course you originally set for yourself? But more than anything else, I am afraid this might mean that I will see more pieces of my life on another blog.

Recently I got a couple of comments from readers asking about how to start exercising in their 60s. One feel that most gyms are not made for sedentary people in their age group. And the other reader, though active, feels that she needs to add some strength training and flexibility to her walking. They both understand that they need to exercise, but the “how to exercise” in their 60s remains a mystery to them.
