My Blog is Turning a Profit

My blog is finally turning a profit. I have made enough from my advertising to pay for my hosting and domain name registration until April when I must pay for my yearly maintenance costs again. From now until April, it will just be pure profit for me! Yep, I can see myself getting 4 mochas from Starbucks from this increase in income. :D

Your typical bloggers do not make that much money from their blogs. The sites that are set up to just promote products or services are not really your typical blogger in my opinion.

Blogging takes up a lot of my free time. Not just the writing and the site maintenance itself, but the reading and research involve so that I do not sound like an idiot to the world. I do not mind. It is a cheap hobby and like I said above, I will be making $12 from these two months of profit. Of course, after taxes, it might be closer to $11.

There are many reasons why people start blogging. I hope to continually motivate myself to take better care of my health with this blog. You can see where most of my interest lie after reading a few post – it is the biochemical aspects of how our genes and hormones respond that excites me.

I was a biotechnical engineering major for three years in college before I settled into civil engineering (the 2nd course on organic chemical bored me to tears and I really did not like competing with the pre-med students in my classes).

And I often write about menopause and other age related issues because of my mom. She does not speak any English and I feel the need to stay inform to help her with her questions. As for men”s health related issues, sometimes I blog about it when I read something interesting, but I do not go searching for it.

I am pretty sure that as I hit the different life stages, my blog posts will reflect my new interests. As you can see from my photo, I unpacked the most important things already – my workout equipment. Now if only I get to the rest of the boxes…..

Until next time and thanks for stopping by Small Steps to Health.

Congratulations Asithi. I can totally relate to how much free time blogging takes up. It can take hours to write a post once you factor in all the research you have to do but it is a fun hobby. It allows you to really get stuck in to topics that interest you and learn new things every day. Plus you get a great sense of achievement when you receive feedback comments from your readers.

@Tom Parker – Free Fitness Tips – That is true. There is some sense of achievement when someone “finds” the post on the internet. Thanks for the comment.

That’s really cool. Thanks for sharing some background info; I love hearing about how people get into blogging and all.

@MizFit – C’mon MizFit. If we were in any contest, I would not even be qualified to be in the same race with you. :D

@Sagan – Thanks for the comment.
