It is very hard not to overeat in America. Just about everything is set up to encourage us to overeat. What industry or professional organization might benefit if you are healthy and eat nutritiously? None.
After exports we still have 3,900 calories available for each person per day. This post discuss the options available to the food industry and how they get us to eat more.

This post will discuss the “male” menopause (andropause) phase at around age 60 and how balance your hormones.
Everyone knows about “the change” that women go through after 50. Women are better equip than men in dealing with extreme changes to our bodies from years of practice. Not only are men not used to dealing with changes in their bodies, there is not much support in our community or the internet to help them.
Can you imagine two men sitting next to each other, beer in hand, talking about the “changes” happening to their bodies? I would love to see my husband and brother doing that 20 years from now.
Here are links to my popular Women Hormonal Phases posts.

The Women”s Hormonal Phase series discuss the hormonal changes we go through in our lifetime from our teens to after menopause. Each posts discuss what is going on with our bodies at each stage, the health challenges, and possible solutions.
This final concluding post in the series discuss what happens after menopause and how to staying physically independent as we age.
Most of the decline we experience after menopause comes from disuse. After the age of 50, we start to lose 1 pound of muscle year. After 3 years, we lose the ability to burn 150 calories each day, which is the equivalent of 14 pounds of weight gain a year.

I have heard of keeping up with the Jones, but this is certainly unexpected. Apparently a lot of people are not only just watching the event, but many want to participate at home as well.
So they are setting up their TVs in front of their rowing machines, treadmills, or exercise bikes to “follow” the Olympics as they row, run, or bike.
In the process of setting up their machines to workout at the same speed as the Olympians, these people are breaking the machines (clearly home exercise equipment are not Olympics quality)… or themselves?
Photo by John Rue I just want to put up a quick post to let everyone know that I am not abandoning my blog. Lately my life seems to be revolving around weddings. As most of my readers know, I am married. It is not a secret — except to our families. Yes, that [...]
I just cannot get over the transformation on the eyes! But the head does not seem to be in proportion to the “smaller” body size. I guess the point is that glossy magazine pictures are not “real” people.
