Camping Weekend and Starting a New Job

I just returned from a long weekend of camping with a group of friends. It feels so good to be able to take a long shower and wash all the dirt from the pores of my skin.
Camping is the perfect excuse to fit physical activity in. Since each family had to prepare only one meal the entire four days, we had plenty of free time. I notice that some of my friends hung around the campsite, talking and snacking for four days. Other seemed to spend the more time sunbathing at the lake. At night, when the kids are asleep, we sat around the camp fire drinking and shooting the breeze. No wonder people seem to gain weight when they return from a camping trip.
I am the exact opposite. When I am away from the office environment for a period of time, I slim down. Instead of using the clock as the measuring device of when I eat and when to take a break, I follow my instinct to eat only when I am hungry and to move. Sometimes that mean snacking a couple times a day and other times it means only three meals.
In the meantime, I am packing up my desk at work. I am starting my new job next week at the wastewater treatment plant. I am excited to start something different, yet anxious at the same time. Who knows if I make any friends there. Yep, I am more worry about not having anyone to eat lunch with than the work itself.
Until next time and thanks for stopping by.
