The 1,300 Calories Baskin Robbins Sundae

My strategy for limiting my calories for my lunch with some friends worked great! I ate and joked with my friends without overstuffing myself. However, I still got fuller than I wanted (I am trying to cruise on 3/4 of a tank after each meal), but not as stuffed as I could have been. So I was feeling really happy that my pre-planning paid off.
I was so happy that I decided to call my husband when I got home from work to get that ice cream sundae from Baskin Robbins that he suggested the night before. Ice cream is my all time favorite treat. I cannot have it in the house because I will continue eating the half gallon every night until I finish the entire carton. Since deciding that I want to loose weight last year, ice cream is no longer a regular food item in my house.
So what prompt this sudden trip to Baskin Robbins? My husband found a “Buy 1 get 1 free” sundae coupon on their website. Since it was such a good deal, we have to take advantage of this coupon! The coupon can be used on any sundae, so of course we got to get two premium sundae (more bang for the buck!). The premium sundae increase the total calorie count of a regular sundae by 40% due to all the chocolate syrup, chunks of chocolate, and whip cream (you get three layers of this). Oh, I am feeling guilt! I will get over it by tomorrow, but please tell me that I am not the only one who is feeling this. Is a good coupon that hard to resist?
