How are fruit lovers different from veggies lovers? According to “Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think” by Brian Wansink, PhD there is a huge difference. The differences are:
Veggie lovers generally:
like to try new recipes and entertain at home
enjoy spicy foods
think they cook nutritiously
enjoy an occasional glass of red wine with dinner
Fruit lovers generally:
often eat dessert with dinner
spend little time cooking
avoid new recipes and entertaining
enjoy an occasional candy bar
I am a fruit lover myself. I find the general characteristics of fruit lovers listed in the book very similar to my personality. I enjoy fruits for the convenience. Sometimes I even find myself avoiding certain type of fruits because it involves a little too much effort. Veggies often require some sort of processing. And I usually need to get out a bottle of dressing to make the taste palatable.
Along the same line, I often do not like to spend too much time in the kitchen. That is why my crock pot is my best friend. I like to throw everything into the pot, let it do its magic, and enjoy a good meal a few hours later. Hence, I do not enjoy entertaining because it involves too much effort on my part to prepare for it. I freely admit to everyone that I am lazy.
What about you? Are you a fruit lover or a veggie lover? Do you find some of these characteristics matching your personality?

I am a fruit lover more than a veggie lover, but I do love to cook and try new recipes, I like spicy foods (prefer Indian/curry-spicy to Mexican/pepper-spicy), and mostly cook nutritiously.
